Job Description

Perform product level research and development of key IP and circuit techniques that deliver a substantial competitive advantage to our customers.

In brief, the candidate will be expected to:

·         Interact with customers to determine key needs and/or areas of concern in existing solutions.

·         Propose and investigate new architectures and/or enhancements to existing solutions.

·         Perform analysis of the benefits vs penalties of their proposed solutions.

·         Clearly communicate how their proposals satisfy customer key needs and concerns.

In more detail:

The following illustrate typical activities. Hand analysis and modeling of new architectures.  Creation of high level system designs in MATLAB or other appropriate tools. The partitioning of high level design into transistor level blocks. Determine key performance metrics and penalties for each transistor level block and devise a verification plan to measure same. Execute verification plan and analyze results to determine impact on performance of high level system. Where necessary, make a judgment to accept, modify or re-partition.

Throughout these tasks candidate must be able to clearly communicate key concepts, benefits and penalties to other company members and to customers.

Some international travel will be required.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree plus 5 years experience in fine geometry CMOS (65nm and below) or high-performance BiCMOS. Some experience with the following types of circuits: PLLs (analog or digital), ADCs, SERDES, or associated sub-blocks (VCO, Charge Pump, phase detectors, MUX/DEMUX, Analog Front-End, TIA, etc.) Experience with frequencies above 1GHz or with ultra-low power, high-efficiency circuits.  Experience with execution and supervision of layout.
